Best of MAC The Neutral Shadows

Hi Everybody,

Here are a few of MAC's best neutral shadows and those which have made my kit.
For more...Best of MAC video below. Enjoy!

Row 1: Blanc Type, Naked Lunch, All that Glitters, Wedge
Row 2: Tempting, Copperplate, Twinks, Cork
Row 3: Carbon, Brun, Club, Sketch

These shades are MAC's best- in terms of being universally versatile and possessing the qualities that comprise a great shadow: just the right pigmentation, minimal fall out and amazing blendability.

These shades work well in creating most looks from nude natural looks to extreme dramatic smokey eyes. The work well with one another. They are buildable and intensity of eye looks can easily be played around with just by working with these shades.

From Soft Neutrals to Warm Corals. ♥ Summer trend 2011

Hi Everybody,

It's been awhile since I have been able to put up a blog post. But here is one delightful one to come back with.

Summer has always been about color and brights. I am tremendously loving the refreshing return to bright corals. This is evident with the new show stoppers from CHANEL & NARS collections. CHANEL's Mimosa leads the trail followed by NARS Wonder Lipgloss and Canteloupe Velvet Matte Lip Pencil.

Rouge Coco Shines. CHANEL Spring 2011

In keeping with Spring and the fresh new season, CHANEL has released their latest edition to the Rouge Coco family. A formulation so modern yet classic at the same time. The Rouge Coco Shine is a hydrating lip shine. It is said to combine the benefits of a lip moisturizing product and a slight pigmentation as that of a lipstick.

Here are swatches of the four shades I have so far:

From L.-R. : 59 Elise, 54 Boy, 49 Escale and 48 Evasion. (in Natural Sunlight)

59 Elise is a sheer berry tone, 54 Boy is a sheer peach pink, 49 Escale is a sheer pink and 48 Evasion is a sheer true peach.

54 Boy and 49 Escale (which is an exclusive of HoltRenfrew Canada) are very similar to each other. The Escala on the bullet looking more of a cool toned peach while Boy on the bullet looks like a muted mauve pink. Both give almost identical pigmentation or suggestion of on the lips. They are my two favourites of the bunch. They come the most flattering to my skin tone.

59 Elise is a Limited shade as well- this of the bunch giving off the most color pigmentation- being a berry shade- looks absolutely amazing with CHANEL's Spring 2011 Quad on the eyes.

LES 4 OMBRES 20 Regard Perle.

49 Escale

48 Evasion

59 Elise

54 Boy

Each one imparts a flattering sheer pigment to the lip, with extreme hydration. They may also be layered one over the other- to customize the tint desired. I extremely like this formulation especially for daily use, for women at work or on the go. They are all extremely wearable and extremely non-high maintenance lip products. If there was a downside to the product, it is that they need to be replied constantly as they are not of heavy pigmentation and consistency- they do wear quite easily. Yet I feel that the positives of this product definitely outweigh one negative.

ROUGE COCO SHINES have definitely set the standard for easy to wear, moisturized, polished lips. Classic yet Modern.

And the Winners were...

Gwyneth Paltrow in Calvin Klein was a vision of sophistication and simplicity. The attention to detail, irridescent Midas-like material and the touches of jewelry were impeccable her earrings matching her uniquely placed brooch at the high hip.

Truly five Stars for the tower of elegance.

Hailee Steinfeld as well was a vision of 'pretty' in her blushing nude pink Marchesa. This is how all ladies this age should strive to be a vision of.

Mila Kunis in Elie Saab gets a MOST honourable mention. The fragility of fabric, daintiness of color and application of the lace trend was done with much restraint & femininity. The fit on Mila was as well beyond superb- it accentuated her curves, showcased her cleavage without consciously seeming to.

So inspite of the fact that the Oscars show did not quite deliver as much as all the hype beneath it was given, those that came to see walked away with new inspiring visions of freshness and delight in the realm of fashion & style.

A Piece of Jewelry that Built a Wardrobe

The Piece that brought it all together- A gold plated oversized leaf...

When in doubt or at a lost for where to begin when trying to get a few items of clothing together- for a getaway, a small business trip or whatever it may be- try to begin at the end; that is, items which usually are deemed finishing touches and in the grand scheme of things come towards the end of your styling thinking process.

This is a little example of how to go about a creative process when you feel as though you are in a rut.

1. Look towards pieces of jewelry or other accessories which you certainly will be wearing for some inspiration.

2. Throw in neutral pieces with great details of the like: black vests, oversized cardigans etc.

And you instantly have the foundations or at least the great skeletons to fill in a well put together wardrobe.

Thoughts for the day!
